The uses of traditional textiles, with pops of lace cutouts, were made crisp and modern in colors of black, white and tones of warm to icy grays. Part two of the show had a sweet retro feel. It featured candy apple red swim briefs for men and pink, troupe and white Jackie O. cut jackets worn with classic cut briefs. Ribbons, kerchiefs and towels of pink and white added were the icing to this sugary look.

Draping sweaters shimmer, bright blues popped against and bold black and white print. This segued into the Selection line where the black and white houndstooth trench and quilted smoking jacket were stars. The worlds of fashion and art elegantly collide in the s.Olivier show, ART COLLECTION. Created in cooperation with internationally famous Shanghai-based artist Qiu Shengxian. 28 imagesPhotographer: Berniece Tahmindjis Retoucher: Stefanos Kostikidis Fashion Writer: Olivia Casteel Spousta It is clear that the VA VA VOOM woman is brave enough to take an interesting twist on its namesake. Know for using haute couture classics as basics these elements are used to invoke the ‘Admiration of Attractiveness’. This interesting pattern of paradox continued throughout the show… from red hot leather minis worn with matching thick knitted scarves to snake patterned bustiers paired with dreamy long flowing skirts and the repeated delicate carved leather details.

31 imagesPhotographer: Berniece Palaci Written by Olivia Spousta of Solomon Artistry www.solomonartistry.com This collection was not conceptual by nature, but with a real life client in mind. This no nonsense approach was seen in the symmetry of shape, use of limited color and textile choices. Yet, it was in the details that the creativity really showed through. The leather bodices were like sleek armor while the draping blouses added romance and grace. Zuzana Kubickova: At the beginning of the show we are taken to a sunny and lighter side of life. Preppy tailoring, button-up blouses and modest hems meet the femininity and fun of short shorts, white lace, tiny polka-dots and mini florals. Yet, ending abruptly on a heavier note, with three warm-toned gowns, one was left unsure of how they fit into this dreamy collection.

29 imagesPhotographer: Berniece Tahmindjis Written by Olivia Spousta of Solomon Artistry www.solomonartistry.com This collection was fierce and unexpected, while at the same time flattering and wearable. The futuristic English countryside look referenced fencing and riding uniforms. The color scheme was a star as much as the clothes themselves where-imperial purple, contrasting kelly green, earthy tan, stormy gray and dusty navy complimented the repeated appearance of antique-inspired floral pattern of blue, orange and mauve.

The bold puffer coats, oversized cardigans and hourglass gowns showed the range of what the boutique has to offer.
